We've made it home!

Howdy Everyone!

Well, after a wonderful 3 months touring in QLD, we have finally made it home! We arrived at 1.30am, the kids didn't know which toy to go for in the toy room first! Got them into bed by about 2am! Today we have had a day of sorting through everything, washing and the kids have REALLY enjoyed playing with all the things they missed while away! TOYS!!!!

I'll just fill you all in from where I left off last Wednesday.

We went out for dinner for Trent's birthday so that Nannie Jac and Poppy could enjoy the celebrations before they left. It was good fun and of course we had cake - it's not your birthday if you don't have a cake and blow out the candles!

Thursday we had a slow morning and we all had lunch in the Noosa main street food court. Nannie Jac and Poppy caught a bus back to Brisbane Airport just after lunch and the kids then spent time with Nannie Rose and Papa while Trent and I went for Trent's ultrasound on his heart. After the ultrasound we had some time to fill in before the Dr's app. so we went for a look at the lookout at Noosa. It wasn't all that exciting compared to others we had seen along the way but it was nice to do without little people around for a bit!
We got to the Dr's app and Dr. Paul who has been wonderful with Trent - nothing has been too much trouble called us into his room. He said that he was going to find an answer to Trent's problem and he did. Through more of Trent's blood tests he discovered Trent has an over active Thyroid! This explains all his trouble and most importantly, his racing heart beat or pulse! So, it was off for another ECG in the Treatment Room and then back to Dr. Paul for some scripts, a certificate and another referral for Trent to have an ultrasound on his thyroid and an nuclear scan on his thyroid. Apparently, Trent has just been very unlucky, he seems to think that nothing caused it, it has just happened!
After the app, we headed back to the kids and then I took a walk to gets Trent's medication at the Pharmacy. It was takeaway for dinner and then Maurice had another sleepover at Nannie Rose's and Papa's, Pheobe had another turn the night before! Trent and I then packed up most of our things and I did the last of the washing.

Friday, it was up early and breaky, packed up and by 8.30am we were at Radiology for Trent to have his ultrasound and nuclear scan. Pheobe, Maurice and Flick had more time with Nannie Rose and Papa. After the scans and yet, another ECG, we went back to the Dr's for a quick review and a dump of Trent's history onto a USB stick and we were back at Rod and Rose's. A quick bite to eat and a final good bye to Nannie and Papa and we  were on our way.
We called into where the Caravan is being fixed in Brisbane and grabbed a few things we wanted to bring home with us. The caravan because it wasn't finished and they couldn't guarentee it would be by Monday, is being put on a truck home once the work is complete. From here we drove all the way to Warwick and had some Mc chucks for dinner. Everyone was travelling along okay so we went a little further to Goondiwindi. We all crashed there by 9pm. Not really the best Birthday for Trent, but at least we were on our way home and that was going to make him happy, It's always better at home when you are unwell.

Saturday came around pretty quick and Flick was up at the crack of dawn, so we all got up, showered, some warm milk and packed up. We were on the road we thought fairly early, but once we crossed the border we lost another hour! 10am we got to Moree and of course the 'Golden M' was there and everyone was a little peckish, so we drove through and it was hash browns all round and bacon and egg muffins! We kept driving through Narrabri, Coonabarabran, Gilgandra and then stopped at Dubbo for a late lunch. Guess where? Macca's!!!! Love those play area's for the kids to burn off energy and McCafe for the Mum and Dad!
Back on our way and through Parkes, saw the Dish from the Highway! Through Forbes and on to West Wyalong. Had a bit of a pit stop here, Flick was wanting a bottle, so we got milk and asked the man to heat it up for us! We decided to head on to Wagga Wagga and because Flick was still sleeping we made our way to Albury after a quick servo stop to was the bugs off the windscreen! We took the Albury bypass and made another pit stop at a truck stop just outside of Wodonga on the Hume Hwy. 9.30pm, Kids into their PJs and I took over driving for a while and Trent did the last 2 hours and we were home! It was a massive day, but it was worth it to not have to drive again today!

We caught up with GD, Nannie Di and Abby today, it was real great to see them. Nannie Jac and Poppy also called in which was great too! Nannie and Papa phoned to see how we were and to let us know that they picked up Mac and Mollie from Doggy Daycare (they went there while Nannie and Papa came to visit us in Noosa).

Anyway, its now time to sign off and we are all looking forward to catching up with all our family and friends to share our journey and tell stories. We hope this Blog has been a great way for you all to see and read about our past 12 weeks! Thanks to everyone that kept in touch.

See you all soon,
Love The Guye Gang xoxoxoxoxo

Our time in Noosa with the Grandies!

Hi Everyone!

Well, it's been about a week now since I last blogged and we have had a fun time with the Grandies since they arrived last Friday. Everyone was soooooo excited to see each other with BIG HUGS all round! Felicity gave Nannie Jac the Biggest hug of all, wouldn't let go!!!! Nannie Jac was very excited about that.
After we picked up Nannie and Papa (Rose & Rod) from the Sunshine coast airport, we headed into Noosa Heads and found their accom in Hastings Street. Got them in and unloaded. Maurice and Pheobe stayed with them and Trent, Flick and I went to our accom and checked in - just over the road! Trent went and got our bags from the other place we stayed at the previous night and then Nannie & Poppy arrived. Uncle Peter and Aunty Mary picked them up from Brisbane Airport and drove them to Noosa for us! Flick gave Nannie Jac her HUGE cuddle. We went up into our apartment and unloaded all their things and when Trent got back we unloaded ours. Nannie, Papa, Pheobe and Maurice came over and got a great surprise to see Nannie and Poppy!
Next it was time for the Swimming pool of course! So we went and got some lunch from the bakery and all ate by the pool. Once we had lunch, the two nan's, Flick and I went to the Supermarket to stock up! We got back to Nannie's and unloaded, then over to our place and unloaded. Trent by this stage was a little 'under the weather' so to speak with lifting all the bags and groceries up all the stairs. Don't know if any of you have noticed in the past few blogs that Trent has lost a lot of weight, but he has. Anyway, when this happened there was big discussion that night over at Rose and Rod's apartment where we all had dinner together about Trent getting into a doctor to see what was happening with him. He has also had a stomach complaint the past couple of weeks.

So, on to Saturday morning and we made an app. to see a Dr for Trent and off we went! Dr. Paul was great! We discovered that Trent's heart rate was rather high, so he sent Trent off to Cas for some testing to be done rather than wait until Monday. So, most of the afternoon was spent at the Hospital for us, the kids and the grandies had a fun time together. And, after all the testing and ultrasounds and xrays they thought that Trent may have had a virus of some kind and told him to go home and to see his local GP when he got home to check on it.
We had an easy what was left of the afternoon back at the apartment and then went to Rod and Rose's for dinner. Pheobe had a sleepover at Nannie & Papa's for the night!

Sunday was a pretty relaxing day, at the swimming pool and the kids also had some time at the beach too.  Nannie & Papa & Pheobe got kicked out of their swimming pool because apparently only residence staying at the apartments are allowed to swim there, not guests of residence and Pheobe was a guest!!!We went out for dinner that night which was good fun. Flick gave Poppy a run for his money sitting next to him for the night! Just showing her true colours!!!! And, it was Maurice's turn for a sleepover at Nannie and Papa's!

Monday morning came and Dr. Paul phoned Trent and asked him to come in on Tues am for another check and an ECG monitoring. It was a relaxing sort of a day really. Trent and Pheobe went for a wonder after lunch, Poppy stayed in while Flick had a sleep and Nannie Jac, Maurice and I also had a wonder down Hastings street. For dinner on Monday night Trent, Poppy and I went down the street and got takeaway after a few beers at the Pizza bar!

Tuesday we went to the Dr's in the morning and Dr. Paul has asked Trent to repeat the bloods, as some results were a slight bit abnormal or out of the ranges of 'normal'. With his ECG, his heart rate was still elevated so he has also organised for Trent to do an ultrasound of his heart. He does this tomorrow and then after that we see Dr. Paul again for review. Trent's stomach issue seemed to be better today which was good, but we still have to see what Thursday brings! Trent also contacted the caravan place today to see how things were coming along and they seem to think they will have it ready by the end of the week just depending on parts being delivered to them etc...
Lunch was back at our apartment and then Flick and Maurice had a sleep and Trent and Poppy stayed home with them and Nannie Jac, Pheobe and I went to Noosa Junction for a look at the shops and I also posted a parcel to Maiko in Japan. It was Maiko's Birthday on the 16th of October, so we hope she had a fun day and looks forward to the parcel we have sent to her. Happy 'Belated' Birthday Maiko from all of us here in Noosa! We chose the present for you from a little gift shop in the main street of Noosa - Hasting's Street!

Today is Wednesday! We have had a fun day today. Its our last day together as a group as Nannie Jac and Poppy leave us tomorrow afternoon for their trip back home. We all got in a maxi Taxi and headed to Noosaville to the river. We hired a boat and ate icy poles, fruit and oreo's whilst Trent took us around all the canals to look at all the 'prime' real estate in Noosa! There are some lovely properties and we had a really fun 2 hours just cruising along. Pheobe and Maurice had a turn at driving the boat which they thought was fantastic!
When we got back to the shore we had some lunch at a table near the riverside and then had a little walk and waited for the Taxi to take us back to our apartment. We had takeaway Coffee and me a weak hot choc. Got Flick and Maurice into bed and here I am telling you the latest news. We are out for dinner again tonight to celebrate Trent's Birthday before Nannie and Poppy go home. Trent's Bday is on Friday the 21st, so I'm sure there will be more celebrations then too!

Hope everyone is well back home and I'll be in touch again soon. It's hard to believe that in just over a week we will be home and back into the normal! Not sure how it will go, but we are all looking forward to catching up with everyone and telling you all our stories from our great trip!
Lots of Love, Hugs and Kisses to everyone,
The Guye Gang! xo

Our time in Brisbane & where are we now?

G'Day Everyone!

Our 4 days in Brisbane were good. After I blogged last we had just arrived at the Caravan park after taking the van in to be assessed. We were able to take it back to the place that assessed it because they think they are able to repair it in the 2 week time frame that we have given them. But first, we had a few days to get it and ourselves organised and ready to go in for repair. Friday morning was spent cleaning out some cupboards and doing some cleaning and dusting etc... We had lunch out and then went to Uncle Peter and Aunty Mary's house for the afternoon. It was so great to catch up with them and hear what they are all up to. Cathy my cousin also got home from work while we were there and we got to chat with her too. My cousin Matt was still at Uni and wasn't going to be home till late that night so we missed on seeing him, but hopefully we might still get a chance to see him and the others again before we head home to Vic!
Saturday we woke to wet weather which turned into a storm! Crazy, but it was actually fun to sit in the van and try and keep warm and watch the storm from inside. Once it cleared, the kids were of course outside and burning energy! We also had some time in the pool, because if we didn't we wouldn't have heard the end of it!!!
Trent & Pheobe in the caravan when it was raining & stormy outside!

Felicity & Trent having some pool time.

Sunday came next and it was a lovely day. Weather was sunny and warm and you wouldn't have even known that we was so yuck the day before! So, it was time to do the washing!!! 5 loads to be exact, but I managed it all by mid morning and by the time I hung the last load out, the first load was pretty much dry!
Next we drove to South Brisbane to visit Waz, one of our mates who Trent worked with at one time. Might not see Waz all that much these days, but it was so great to catch up with him. The kids love him! We made it to his apartment that he's in at the moment, it over looks the river and the story bridge. He took us for a walk along the river, which took all of 15 minutes to the Brisbane Surf Club! They have made a 'beach like' area and foreshore area with sand, grass and a playground nearby. There aren't any beaches close to Brisbane, so this is it! Such a great area. It also has a water park that many people were playing in. You wouldn't have even know that there was a flood there earlier this year, they have cleaned it up really good. We had lunch and a few beers at the surf club, it was yummy. Next we went down to the sand and the kids and Waz built a castle, then to the park for a play. After that, we walked back up to Waz's apartment, again along the river. There were heaps of Lizards along the river bank which the kids had lots of fun trying to spot before us adults could point them out to them. Back at Waz's we sat out on the balcony talking for ages, the kids had a nice time and Waz even put ABC for kids on the big screen for them to watch, this was fantastic! By 5pm it was time to go home and get organised and really get into packing up us and the van.

Monday, and we were up and into getting the van ready to be taken to the repair place. We got the van and us packed to be out of the van for the next 2 weeks! By 10.30am we had the van into the repair place and we made our way up the coast. We got to Caloundra by lunch, so we of course had lunch then decided that we would find somewhere to stay. The first caravan park we went to didn't have any cabins available, but the second could cater for us, however we decided that we would only stay for one night because it was expensive for what it was.
The afternoon was spent just hanging out at the villa and all the kids had a sleep and I spent some time on the laptop looking for accom and I also had a needed rest on the bed. After a trip to the supermarket to organise our dinner, we came home to cook, eat have showers and got into bed reasonably early.

Today we left by 10am. Along our drive along the Esplanade in Caloundra, we found a great park with a mobile coffee shop. We of course stopped for about an hour and everyone enjoyed themselves! We then made our way to Noosaville to our accom for the next 3 nights! It wasn't quite ready so we went along the river foreshore and had some fish n chips for lunch and took a walk as well. Once we got to our accom, (it's called the Skipper's Cove Apartments) there was a pool, and of course it was in no time at all that Trent and all 3 kids were in. I unpacked, did some washing and then got out to see them. This accom was cheaper than being in a caravan cabin and it's 4 star!!! Unbelievable!!! I was soooooo excited when I saw that there was a washing machine and dryer inside, then in the kitchen there was a dishwasher and up stairs we have a bathroom with a bath which got the kids very excited. Pheobe said she loves this place because there is stairs up to her room and of course the pool is a highlight!

After the swimming finished and I had finished the washing, I bathed the kids and then it was about time for everyone to have a rest. Trent and the girls stayed home and Maurice and I went out to the Supermarket to get some supplies to do us for the next few days! Home and cooked dinner, put everything into the dishwasher!!! Got the kids into bed and here I am on the lounge with the laptop and blogging to keep you all up to date! We are all very much looking forward to Friday when Nannie Jac, Poppy, Nannie Rose and Papa all arrive to spend a week with us here in Noosa. Can't wait! Pheobe said tonight at dinner only 3 more sleeps until she gets snuggle buggles from Nannie Jac! Trent and I can't wait to go and have a meal by ourselves. It's also Trent's bday next Friday the 21st, so it's going to be great fun to celebrate with everyone!

Speaking of Birthday's, we need to wish David a Very Happy Birthday! Hope you have had a great day and Kylie and Oscar have spoilt you!

Take care everyone and I'll be sure to blog again soon.
